Food collected at Harvest Festival
We support the Food Bank in association with the Trussell Trust at Gillingham.
Each Wednesday Morning from 9.30 - 12 noon the church hall is open for collection
of food donations. Food can be dropped off at any time the church/hall is open
The local supermarket, Dikes, have joined us by offering a basket where shoppers
can place donations for the Food Bank which are then collected by the Church.
The Church also holds a few food boxes which can be allocated in an emergency.
Each food box whether for a single person or a family is designed to contain
enough food for three days.

In the parable of the sheep and the goats in Matthew 25 the Lord reminds us that whatever we do or don't do for others we have done and not done for him.
At our Harvest Festival - while we will celebrate the abundance of creation and the goodness of God through His creation we will remember that not all have easy access to that abundance and goodness.
We are called by the Holy Spirit to play our part in the Justice of God which demands that all receive their fair share of the earth's abundance.
The Food bank usage continues to increase and was especially busy during the last 12 months and over Christmas.
The Church has collected over 106 kg of food at Harvest Festival and a further 100 kg plus at the January delivery.
